was about to post a similar thing - went to a friends 18th and all the food was traditional chinese stuff. it was like that dinner party in indiana jones and the temple of doomtnf wrote:I had to eat that at a traditional chinese wedding reception. They had some kind of 10 course meal or something.
It included:
Shark fin soup
Sea cucumber
Some big black fish on a plate that you ate cold - the fish had all of its parts still intact, you just dug into it with a fork
There were other disgusting things. It was like an episode of fear factor. I kept wondering when they were going to offer me money for eating the stuff.
figured i'd try a little of everything that wasn't still moving - scariest were some cute looking little pink and yellow rice parcels. they looked like candy - but were filled with this greyish jelly that tasted like garden slugs marinated in hobo piss.
