had this in the Bay Area.
I had to eat that at a traditional chinese wedding reception. They had some kind of 10 course meal or something.
It included:
Shark fin soup
Sea cucumber
Some big black fish on a plate that you ate cold - the fish had all of its parts still intact, you just dug into it with a fork
There were other disgusting things. It was like an episode of fear factor. I kept wondering when they were going to offer me money for eating the stuff.

sea cucumber, eh? eesh. i actually enjoyed the soup, although it was quite a bit of $ for a bowl. good thing i wasn't footing the bill.
What do you call those small spiky creatures that live on rocks in the sea? A greek guy once taught me how to pry them loose, cut them open with a knife an eat them raw. Tastes like oysters.

i ate part of my tooth unintentionally. that was pretty weird.
though the weirdest thing that i opted to eat on my own has probably got to be, um. uh....you know what, i really dont know if i've ventured out to consume something that would be considered out of the ordinary.

i was once on dive with a maori (kiwi) and he was splitting them open and eating them underwater, funny part about it was that the fish went off and were racing in eating all the scraps around his mouth.
