I even restored at an earlier date and still not working, weird.
Help please. Thanks
do as mrd suggested and check your hosts file

c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

copy/paste that info here.
I'm not a geek at PC, do I copy/paste it in the search program?

your local drive is the C drive. open that with windows explorer and find the "winnt" folder, then "system32" folder, etc.

you might need to enable the showing of hidden files/folders, so once you've opened the c drive with windows explorer, go to tools>folder options and click on the "view" tab. scroll down to "hidden files and folders" and make sure that "show hidden files and folders" is checked. click "ok" and you're ready to look for that "winnt" folder.

also, you need to copy the information that is within the hosts file and paste it in your next post.

I don't think this is what you meant but ...I can't even paste it.
I am dumb at PC the closest file I've found is hostname
Also found this right under windows ...Well unable to paste it again. It is the first time I see those and all in blue instead of the usual black font , something like spunist, $NT ServicePack Uninstall$ and 100 more like it and when you click on them they open another 10/20 other blue folder. Really weird

Go to Windows then System32 then Drivers then ETC. Inside that folder you will find a file called HOSTS. Open it with Notepad then copy the text in it to here.

Thanks a lot my friend but I've been trying everything that you and +JuggerNaut+ told me and I am unable to fix it. I have XP so do you want to give it a shot with Remote Assistance even if it will be the first time I use that tool , I'll do my best to make it work. Thanks

OK it sounds like your DNS servers are the problem. I could tell you how to fix it, but the language barrier may prove fun.

Click start then run then paste this and press enter:

C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

You'll find the HOSTS file in the folder that opens.

Or just do:

notepad %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

in Start > run

These are the files
hosts, Imhosts, networks, protocol, services
The hosts file I openned with note pad just said this...# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

Thanks for your patience my friend

Forgot to mention...I have XP and I can't find run so I use search and then click on all files and folders. Is it correct or does this make a difference? Aren't run and search the same?

OK, try this then.

Open RUN, and type:

You'll get something like this:

then type:
ipconfig /all

Can I type it right after mimi> or do I have to type D:\> before?
