My PureVisions are a wee bit blurry when I first wake up, but the storage/cleaning solution that's made for the material they're made from (Alcon Opti-Free Express) is also suitable as eyedrops, and if a few blinks doesn't clear them first thing you can just put a few drops of the solution in and they're fine.

As far as I know only lenses made from this particular material are okay to leave in all the time. There are other brands using it, but I don't know what they are.

Yet in the US it seems to be a more common thing to wear them overnight. But all the reading I've done indicates they're the exact same brands/types of contacts that we wear over here in the UK.

I don't get it. Are people in the US just taking a bigger risk or wha?

We only have two brand that are FDA approved for overnight wear. With any other brand people are simply taking a risk. The ones I used to wear for months straight were actually daily-disposables.

Convenience - since I've been using PureVisions I live almost as though I have naturally perfect vision, because I don't have to think about my lenses at all and my eyes don't get tired and glazey late in the day.

word. people bitching about "yea i'll wait till theres more info about longterm effects" need to realize that when that info is there, theyll be needing glasses anyways.
so either you wear glasses now and when youre old, or dont wear them now and only when youre old
