DEMO mods?

I am a cheap bastard plain and simple and I just got my new computer. I have installed the q3 demo and I was wondering if there are any mods for the demo version of q3. I have seen Dink's mod and stuff but I want to know if I can do it with just the demo. I am going to get the full version soon though (christmas!!!) Oh and my name on there is Dodgethis.

Nope. The license agreement that comes with the demo forbids it i'm afraid

BTW the game must be like $5 now? L:)

don't think there are any mods for the demo... they didn't release any development tools for it. q3 is worth the $20 though.
I can remember a lot of games I really enjoyed playing from 1998 to 2000 - GTA, Worms Armageddon, quake2, UT, etc. Of all the games I had then and have picked up since, Q3 is the only one I've never really uninstalled. even when I've been really busy with school I've at least kept enough of it installed to watch demos.

edit: don't forget to pay the extra few dollars to get a new and sealed version of the game so you can be sure you're getting a valid cd-key. :icon14:

yea that's what i mean. People constantly have freezetag and the excessive mod
installed in demo servers and im wondering how in the hell they did it. :icon28:

I dont mean to start a new subject but, i dont want to start a new post. Ok if i tinker with my config. settings for q3 will that not allow me to play other people online? If so does anyone know where I could get the new cfg. file because i messed with my railgun settings and i made the rail trail time like 9999 and i don't know the default settings. I also might have messed with other things as well.

im stooooooooppppppppppiiiiiid. I just wanted to get into the whole modding thing and i messed up real bad. :icon23:

/cg_railtrailtime 400

Anyway, just delete your q3config.cfg and the game will default to the, uh... defaults.

/cg_railtrailtime [enter]

Typing a cvar without a variable ("number") behind it, but hitting enter will result in the console telling you the current value and the default value for the cvar.

/cg_ [TAB]
Will result in a list with all the commands starting with cg_ (work with all parts of commands).
Use PGUP/PGDN to scroll up and down in the console.

I don't think so, you should be able to connect (maybe prohibited to demo server, I never played the demo so I'm not sure). If PB kicks you (after you connected successfully to the server), open the console to see the reason why. It will most likely state that some cvar is set at an unacceptable value. Change the value to an allowed one and /reconnect.

you guys rule!!!!!1 Ok but i have another completely N00b question well 2. OK first of all I have AOL and the DEMO servers used to come up all THE TIME. NOw However its being gay and no servers are comin up WTF do I DO? Oh and my second Question is... WHEN is it safe to say you're not a n00b anymore?
