A quick question on HDTV's and whatnot.

This monitor apparently has a maximum resolution of 1680 x 1050; will it display 1080i or 720p in resolution?

It's not sufficient for 1080 without some downscaling.

Likewise it'd upscale 720. TV res' aren't quite the same as PC monitor res'

This isn't a direct answer to your question but it might help with a bit of background understanding to lead you to your own conclusion: http://www.projectorcentral.com/true_hdtv.htm

Kinda sucks though; I was trying to get an inexpensive hdtv substitute. Projectors seem to be the way to go, but I can't seem to find one that displays 720p for less than $900.

<$1000 FP's are not a good idea right yet.
