Heading back to work from classes today some guy ran a stop sign and plowed into me. Wrote both cars off. Everyone was ok but I've got a concussion and some bruised ribs and my friend in the car got a concussion.
Never been in an accident like that before. Crazy shit.
He's 100% at fault so I'm not worried about the insurance.
And a write off is when it would cost the insurance company more money to repair the car than to buy a new one.

They might take forever to settle your claim. Get well checked out by a doc and ffs don't sign anything until you've talked to a lawyer. A buddy of mine has been battling ICBC (the BC government run insurance company) over an injury for the last two years. At first it didn't look like he was hurt but after a few days his neck and shoulder started to get more and more painful. If he had settled on their first offer he would be fucked right now since he can't work in his field anymore.
Good to hear that it wasn't more serious at least.

For his sake I hope he wasn't particularly enamored with his field.
He drove truck which wasn't something he liked but it paid pretty well (logging in northern BC) and he had been doing it for 10 years. It might be another few years before the bastards finally settle the claim too.
