but seriously, i see depressed kids every day and have to worry all the time about that issue. Problem is that some kids manipulate the situation - they know that the adults are often worried about suicide so they play up the depression angle to get out of all sorts of responsibilities. You've got to be very perceptive at picking out what is a real potential problem and what is not...and often just have to err on the side of caution.
