There's an xBox 360 listed in my local paper today for $2500.00.

And I guarantee there's an idiot out there that'll buy it.

So even though Dow Jones says 40,000 units were sold on eBay, you are saying they are full of crap, and nobody really sold any XBox's on eBay? I BELIEVE YOU.

right, or just return them to the store where you bought them. I think I read an article that also said that 40,000 units were sold on Ebay. They said thats about 10% of all x360s.

What day is PS3 suppose to come out?
Atleast another year. They havn't even got a working prototype yet nor have they settled on their hardware.
another full year? so xmas 2006? i was thinking somewhere around middle of next year. perhaps they're not going to do that because theres not much of a market at that time?
he's guessing, that is all.

They were not sold to anyone. People started up fake accounts with no previous purchases aor sales just to fuck with people by driving the prices to super high levels and then not paying a penny.

Oh I dunno how about the fucking links posted on this very forum that took you to closed ebay auctions with 360s at the price of 1200 dollars. :icon22:

To make the seller get their hopes up that its a legitimate bid.

Why have none of those 40,000 sellers come forward to say that all those bids were bogus? Or have they?

I'd imagine that would be quite a story.

I'M NOT SAYING THAT 40,000 PEOPLE WERE FOOLED.

I'm just saying that the xboxs we've been seeing selling on ebay for around the 1200 have not been bought by legit people. They're dummy accounts.

Also where would the sellers go? Hahaha it's not like theres some public podium they can clamber up onto and shout about it.

This isn't a new occurance either.

no, but if a large number Xbox's or were bid up to ridiculous amounts by phantom accounts, the mere fact that so many people were fucked at once would become newsworthy. Shit, if the washington post will write about some bugs in a small percentage of the xbox's I am sure they would get wind of the massive ebay fraud surrounding them as well.

Not many. I've seen half a dozen myself and that's it. All were bought by people with no previous purchases or sales and many of the accounts were made on the same day as they 'won' the auction.

the prices for 360s on ebay are still steadily decreasing, arent' they?

if I can get a platinum ssytem for 100 over retail I'd consider it if they aren't available publicly before christmas vacation.

I'm getting a new recliner and require a new console to break it in.
