The 3 LOTR movies are all in the top 15 of all time in the imdb. That's doing something if you ask me. I think we can expect great things from his movies. Kinda makes you wonder why the other directors out there turn out such garbage when all they need to do is study his movies and try and duplicate what he does.

Jackson kinda "lucked out" with those movies. Don't get me wrong, he is a great director, but the fact that he was given the opportunity to direct those movies automatically puts him way ahead.

Yeah, and lets face it, how many followers were there that "needed" those movies?

So you have your whole geek world fanbase, PLUS the fact they are "not shit" films, PLUS the fact everybody said they were "the next big thing".

It was kinda hard for the LotR films NOT to suck in regards to sales.

Myself, I just dunno. I only really liked the first one. The other two just dragged like a grannies tits...

For the last two movies in LOTR, I find the Frodo/Sam/Gullum bits to be tedious and boring. I discovered if I skip ahead past those parts the action and pace of the film really improves. I also skip past the Treebeard parts, those are tedious as hell.

No shit, the LOTR movies would be fantastic if it weren't for those hobbits.

He should have left the hobbit parts out. (for serious, no sarcasm)

that was what was so good about the book and where the dvd triumphs over seeing the movie at a cinema, you can miss out whole chapters.

Damn he turned into a skinny little hobbit - hair still looks like a bag of unwashed fuck though.

This movie is gonna own, jackson said this is the film he wanted to make his entire life, what inspired him to become a director.

I saw Adrien Brody on the Daily Show the other night, he said the same about it being Jackson's inspiration. Also, I had no idea that there were dinosaurs in the original.
This looks to be more ownage...

They just released the original on DVD like two weeks ago. If you have never see it, watch it before you see the new one. I think the new one is going to be great, but half the fun is going to be comparing it to the original.

That Dino De Laurentis thing was a fuckin joke :(
