Alexander made me sad in a 'they could have done so much with this but they didn't' kind of way.

speaking of historical drama, troy and kingdom of heaven weren't any better. KOH is just another nail in the coffin of orlando bloom's acting career. the guy has maybe 3 possible facial expressions, which is about 8 less than g-man

troy i thought was alright

i could watch it and go "some of that was pretty cool"

kingdom of heaven though, i couldnt watch it all without falling asleep and i tried 3 times

Troy was a bastardization of the story. Completely shitty movie.

Thats what I left the theatre saying. They glossed over 8 years of conquering so they could spend more screen time with him and his "buddy" staring at each other.

I liked it for it's entertainment value but it isn't anywhere near as good as the original story.

It's not that it wasn't "as good", it's more about the fact that it COMPLETELY changed the story of the epics.

I'm well aware, having read the original story. It was in no way representative of the original story other than the city, the character names, and the horse, but it was an entertaining movie IMO. It definitely would have been far better if they had stuck to the Iliad though.
