Looking for a vacation resort in Fla/Calif
For my parents for a 2 to 3 months period. january trought march. They already vacation a few times in Fla in Hallandale and Hollywood but this time I want them to discover a new place and they never went to Calif, I did stay in San Diego for 6 months and just loved it at the time 1978. I know some of you live in these areas. Any suggestions?

I have a nice timeshare in cabo which I will let you use at cost, which is about %50 of the regular rate. In early spring there is good whale watching tours, as well as good weather for golf.
As for california, I would probably say Carmel, which has a lot of B&B type places, the monterey aquarium, and lots of little shops and crap, as well as good golfing.
Don't send them to LA, it's really not much hear for an older couple unless they want to eat some good food. Then again it could be their bag, who knows.

I sold time share in the 80s I know that with RCI you can exchange it almost anywhere. How long is yours?MidnightQ4 wrote:I have a nice timeshare in cabo which I will let you use at cost, which is about %50 of the regular rate. it's a desert, it gets fucking cold/windy here...a lot nicer than Canada, but not southern California. If you/they have the money then I'd say southern California, just south of San Diego - Coronado I think it is, was the best city I think I've ever stayed in California. This was in August though, I have no idea how it is in the winter.pete wrote:They are 65/68 but I thought about it they could see Celine Dion and the weather is nice.shadd_ wrote:vegas.
plenty of prostitutes and gambling.
There are a lot of old people though in Vegas, they like to come here and blow their life savings once they realize death is close.

I don't want something extravagant, just a quiet place were they can visit some new things and shop around may be and preferably not too far from the beach or even just a swimming pool. My parents are fairly simple people. Most important thing I think is that it has to be a safe place for them. EG like LA might not be today the perfect place for elderly tourists. They used to have a condo in the dominican republic and they loved it. They don't like to spend a lot of money on vacation. That is another point, if it could be a type of condo with all the facilities in it so they can cook their own meals instead of eating out at restaurants all the time.
