Capturing video from a game?

Post by tnf »

There are a few spots in FEAR I'd like to capture in a video to show a friend some of the fun physics - i.e. hitting a standing gaurd with the metal spike gun thingy and watching him fly back and stick to the wall, with a big nail stickign out of his head. What is also cool is tossing a grenade at stuck guard and watching his body flop around except where he is nailed to the wall.

Is there an easy way to do this?

Worked like a charm.

Anyone have a place where I can upload a 70 meg video file?

hehehe...didn't do any sort of compression or half sizing, just the full deal.

Although the resolution is definitely lower than what I am playing the game at, the video looks pretty damn good.

If you haven't seen FEAR and want to see the spike to the head I am talking about, let me know. Going to try and do this with a smaller file..

Wait until I show the video in physics as a means of discussing ragdoll physics and projectiles and whatnot.

I can host it for you. How do you want to get it to me?

Oh you teach physics eh? I'm taking that right now. It would be a cool class if we didn't have to spend the entire time worrying about filling out work sheets and labs perfectly. I think I liked chemistry better.

http://www.filefactory.com supposedly allows 500mb per upload, but their site acts like a cunt when you try and input the 'signup' code

There's a reason for the attention to detail in lab work.

:/

My physics teacher was an old fart who was so monotone and boring the class was to low point of the day.
Dude even made the labs unbearable... even the fun ones.. :tear:

I'm liking that!!!! Looking at the interface and features. Liking it alot.

Even though I already have a license for Fraps. I might try the lite version on my
son's system and see how it is.

Thanks Dr_Watson :icon14:

Wow.
I didn't think of that. I'll just email that VHS tape over to him or FTP it up to my webhost.
