You local pubs opening hours?

Post by Ezekiel »

Have any of your locals been blessed with a fair amount of extra time?

I know that the uptake of extended hours have been sketchy at best across the UK, but I was rather annoyed to see that I’ll be working until 1am from now on every time I have a weekend evening shift now that the new licensing hours have come into practice. Fuck off into the city center and go to a club! >:E

blair on terrorism laws: "we must do what the police say since they're the experts"

blair on 24-hr licensing: "we must not do what the police say since they're not the experts."

The full 24 hours is a waste of time really – there will be times during the day when the cost of overheads and staff blitz the amount that is actually being taken in an x-given hour period.

I made it very clear that any times in between 11am and 12pm should come with Sunday-style double rates: there was no way I was prepared to stand behind a bar at 5am polishing glasses while waiting god knows how long for a customer. When the rest of the staff agreed the manager panned the idea of going for the full day.

I’d be interested to see just how many people are forced to work the arguably unsociable hours for pay in the £4.25/5.00 region.

It helps that the culture in Holland is different MKJ, you’ve never had people buying two pints ten minutes before time in order to beat the clock. Despite my ranting I’m not against the new hours, I just know that the extra hour where I work will extend the 10 minute nightmare that is the last order rush for a further 60 minutes.

I’m going to lose count of the amount of times I say ”Sorry mate, you are too drunk to serve…”
