Yeah he can't be more wrong than 100% of his statement.

You don't need expansions to get weapons, nor did they need to make SF an expansion to give us weapons because of our rank in BF2. They could just give us new weapons in a standalone game.

Also Vietnam was a dog.

BF : 4 million in sales
BF/V: 1.3 million (of which 700,000 were suckers sales in the first 2 weeks before the word got out how bad it was)
BF2 : 2+ million (in onlly the first few months of sales

DC was never sold, it was put together by the community ,despite the usual roadblocks the companies put up to prevent anyone from having the tools to make anything for their games and threaten their expansion revenues.

The result is buggy games that would be alot better if they took the time to perfect them and listened to the community instead of moving their developers into making the next money making expansion
How am I 100% wrong?

You do need the expansion to get the weapons. All of your could of, would of, should of bullshit is pointless.

BF 1942 sold so well due to the support of the mod industry.

BF Vietnam was a great game that played well on a decent PC.

BF2 is better than both of them because of the added RPG aspect.

Even though DC wasn't sold, it was still an expansion of sorts. It just used the same game engine and took the game in a total different direction. That's why people stayed with BF 1942 and didn't move to BF Vietnam. They liked the modern weapons. Subsequently causing the development of BF2.

As far as your rant about game developers rushing out games is concerned. You may have a point. But your comments are not relevant to this conversation.

How's that? It's like a FSP/RPG where you get different character types that you can progress over time by scoring points.

they think they can throw out a broken game, throw out 3 lazy patches that barely fix anything, and then move on to other expansions and installments to take more of your money.
Well i say hell no to this and even BF3. Us gamers have to send the message NOW that we aint going to fall for this or its going to get worse and more widespread in the PC gaming market.
fix what? Where you unable to play the game or just upset they didnt tweak every aspect to your liking?
The game ran fine for me, I've been playing it and having fun since it came out. I also bought the expansion.

The new maps are nice, I played on a map last night that was all ground, no arty on the map, just like 7 spawn points on the carrier and 2 on the coast. I had a blast chucking gas in a room going in and wasting everyone with the pkm.

1) The AA is still so gay. Have a dead on lock on an aircraft but your missles magically miss your target but then tk a friendly aircraft 10 miles away.
2) TK detection is still bugged. If you are driving a vehicle and someone blows you up, there are times when you still get penalized for a tk.
3)Overall gameplay balance is still way out of wack. The air >> tanks >>>>>>>>>> infantry needs to be set more fair. Planes can fly around bombing the hell out of you and are practically invincible. Attack copters can hover around as if they are invincible also. The blackhawk (ya i admitt they fixed the biggest issue: hover capping) still has as much armor as a tank can its miniguns magically annhilate you instantly just by the gunner spamming in your general direction.
4)Still plenty of random crashes that i see many people suffer from.
5)Hit detection is still screwed up. I have just about as good a aim in realism based games as the best out there and I get way too many situations where perfectly aimed shots turn into ghost bullets.

BFV had an AA class - i completely fail to understand why BF2 lacks this, it would go a long way towards evening things up.

only bought bf1942 to play desert combat. bf2 is alright, but the problems stocktroll mentioned are annoying, like the dozen or so other problems with it. would be good to see those fixed before an expansion was released.

still can't get my around the medals thing. i've led squads on assaults and defense, been mr teamplay, turned the tide of a battle and killed everything in fucking sight - and won nothing. then, while i'm trying to light a splif and talk on the phone and play the game all at the same time, i'll spray some poor sod with a machine gun at 10 metres and get a gold star for it :dork:

So, I ended up getting it because I wanted something "new" to play, plus it was free after giftcard.

I've got an unlock available and can't decide what to get. I haven't had a chance to use any weapons from it as I just started. I normally play medic, so I would like a better gun for that class, but it looks like just some close range sub-machine gun.

Thinking F2000 as I've gotten owned a few times by it. :p

Still haven't unlocked Sniper, that's the only original unlock I'm lacking.

I was playing on a SF server last night on a SF map. First round I could use all my unlocks, including my SF unlocked weapons. The second round I could not.

Is this a bug or a server side setting? I asked the other players but none had any idea what I was talking about.

P.S. That F2000 is nice. I unlocked it...and 3 other guns after installing SF. :olo: I think I only need 2 more in order to have all guns. I guess I get those at 50,000 though.

My next rank is at 50,000 and I have all but 1 of the guns.

No issues here....

2gigs of RAM usually makes all the problems go away.

Gramps, did you get guns at 25,000? I'm at I think 21,000.

And have you played on SF servers where you couldn't select SF weapons?

I might have been over 25,000 when SF came out. The rank before 50,000 in BF2 is 20,000. So you should have received all but 1 unlock at 20,000. Maybe SF has another unlock at 25,000, I don't know.

Yes, there are certain SF maps that none of the SF unlocks can be used on.

That's retarded. Here's some new maps and weapons. But you can't use these weapons on these maps. :olo:
