A New Standard For Defining Stupidity on the Internet!

Post by Geebs »

OK, I've been pondering this age-old ARPAnet problem: How do you tell someone on the web pretending to be stupid from someone who genuinely is stupid? Well, my friends, after about 3 seconds' contemplation, I have arrived at the answer!

Is it spelling/typo related? No!
Linguistic problems? None!
Basic knowledge of topic? Again, no!

I propose a Turing test of internet stupidity: "If someone on the web is indistinguishable from a stupid person, then they are stupid!"

You can thank me later.

I've always looked to Machiavelli regarding this subject: in times of smartness the wise prepare for stupidity, that sort of thing.

Here's some more, the man wrote an entire book about the Art of Assessing Stupidity:

A wise man never lacks legitimate reasons to break his promise.

The first method for estimating the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him.

The wise man does at once what the fool does finally.

Where stupidity is great, the difficulties cannot be great.

Whoever conquers a stupid town and does not demolish it commits a great error and may expect to become dumb himself.
