Still, I wish Audi would make a new RS6 or get going on the RSTT. Those are what I'd really like to have...
Now THIS is a V8
I'm not going to get involved with the "my favorite car is better than yours" argument, but I will agree with ToxicBug that the RS4 is damn nice and there are many reasons I'd prefer it over any other cars people mentioned, not least of which is the engine. I'm seriously thinking about getting one at some point.

550bhp from a 5.4 liter engine
The price is kinda steep - $130,000
Any comments?

True, but is it not equally impressive that the Corvette has a 7.0L V8 and manages 16 MPG city, where the RS4 is sucking through 10MPG.
I guess its all how you like your muscle really. I like Audi's and the RS4 is a hot car, there's no doubt about it. But just because they can squeeze out impressive numbers out of a smaller engine doesn't mean shit, really.
The Corvette not only manages to be over a second faster 0-60, but also maintains its ability to be a decent commuter car of sorts.

Speaking of lame... you STILL use the "GOTH" thing.. Yet, if you even remotly paid attention, you would know im nowhere near gothToxicBug wrote:So what? I specified that the Audi has a N/A engine you retard. Forced induction is a completely different category. I also never said that the RS4 is the fastest car in the world, I was only admiring the engine. You're really dumb, even for a lame goth. Just stay away from me.SOAPboy wrote:Its still faster.. as are a lot of cars..ToxicBug wrote: Its supercharged.

I know this isn't "production" but these v8 engines are the fastest in the world producing over 7,000 horse power.Did you know …
… that the nitromethane-powered engines of NHRA Top Fuel dragsters and Funny Cars produce approximately 7,000 horsepower, about 37 times that of the average street car?
… that one cylinder of the eight cylinders of a Top Fuel dragster or a Funny Car produces 750 horsepower, equaling the entire horsepower output of a NASCAR engine?
… that the gasoline-powered engines of NHRA Pro Stock cars produce about 1,200 horsepower, about eight times that of the average street car?
… that an NHRA Top Fuel dragster accelerates from 0 to 100 mph in less than .8-second, almost 11 seconds quicker than it takes a production Porsche 911 Turbo to reach the same speed?
… that an NHRA Top Fuel dragster leaves the starting line with a force nearly five times that of gravity, the same force of the space shuttle when it leaves the launching pad at Cape Canaveral?
So don't put down americans, that pisses me off. Oh by the way the fastest production car in the world is the corvete comimng in in around 1,000 horse power from that small v8 it has.
I realize that this is not on topic, I thought I would point out that America has everyone beat when it comes to v8 performance, period.

Well, the TVRs have their negative points including the engine starting method was prolly designed by an idiot (see below)werldhed wrote:Yes, but Toxic's point was that the engine can crank out impressive figures from a small displacement. That corvette may be fast, but a TVR could easily match those figures with only 4 L.
Jeremy Clarkson ala Topgear has this to say about them (He has actually driven them unlike most of the peeps on this forum)
"And that brings me neatly on to the new TVR Tuscan 2. This is the first of the cars launched since the company was bought by a 14-year-old Russian business-boy, and is said to be easier to drive, and easier to live with than any TVR ever.
Hmmm. It still doesn't have an airbag, or anti lock brakes, or any kind of traction control. In fact, the only safety feature is the ludicrous starting procedure which is so complicated, I can pretty much guarantee you'll never actually get it going. And a stationary, silent car is damn hard to crash."
and they apparently are not impressive at the topgear race track

LOL, I was going to post the LS7 specs but looks like all the gearheads beat me to it. Oh, and btw mr. euro, the new Z06 blows away everything at Nurburgring, including but not limited to:
a Mercedes SLR
a 996 Porsche 911 GT3 RS
a Lamborghini Murcielago
a Pagani Zonda C12S
a 996 Porsche 911 GT2
a BMW M3 CSL
a Lamborghini Gallardo
a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale
a 996 Porsche 911 Turbo
a Manthey Porsche GT3
a Mosler MT900S Photon
a Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R
a McLaren F1
and it TIED the Porsche Carrera GT, a $600,000 supercar. OH, did I mention that Z06's are going off the lot AT STICKER PRICE for $65k, no markup? And this is on "The Ring", the type of racing environment that euro cars are built for. Nevermind the 1/4 mile track.....
To illustrate my point, here's what can be done with a corvette.

I'd love to see an audi smoke its tires on the dyno... :icon26:
