Ok well, thanks for all the suggestions everyone, much appreciated. It's good to know all these programs for future reference. But at the moment, I've been learning how to do it the netrex way and so far netrex is teh win! AutoGK did make a 50mb avi with good picture and sound quality. Now to see how small I can make the other file which is 722mb. That's also set to 50mb custom size, but perhaps might be need to be bit bigger for good quality. I didn't need rad tools after all, autoGK is pretty good.

Btw netrex, sound quality is fine, but in the first 'audio track(s)' box, it says 'Unknown language AC3 2ch.' and also gives the option for no audio track. Naturally I selected 'Unknown language AC3 2ch' .And in the box below it says the same and also gives the option of 'no second audio track.' I'm not sure why it says unknown language, although it doesn't seem to affect anything. Is it better for me to have also selected the second audio track?


edit: well the final results are: 968mb DVD ripped and reduced to an amazing 2 x 50mb avis with perfect audio and video. Thanks netrex
