Uranium gives interesting yellow and green colours and fluorescence effects when included to glass in conjunction with other additives. The image below is an English amphora dating to about 1930 showing a characteristic yellow-green colour. The image is from the Uranium Glass Gallery in Japan
(http://www.parkcity.ne.jp/~ken-toma/1.2.html ) , where you can find further information about uranium glass. This type of glass is sometimes referred to as "vaseline glass" in the UK and USA and as "Annagelb" (yellow) or "Annagruen" (green) in Germany
What where people thinking of back then, I mean look at it glow!

the little glow-in-the-dark bits on watches used to be a radium paint applied with a tiny brush. seems the factory workers would all lose their hair because they'd lick the brushes to keep the bristles in a sharp point. :radiowned:

It had something to do with the thunderbirds or thundercats or something.
Somebody's mother or some other relative died.

I just got done with a demonstration involving uranium today. Have a little jar of it at work, along with some rocks that have uranium ore...the yellow is definitely a defining characteristic.

I want some super sperm.
Actually, I got enough radiation exposure back in my days of research with the old radioactive DNA.

It may have been about SOAPgoth's dad getting shanked to death, though I could be wrong.
