European Parliament says NO to DRMs and copyprotections

seems like retailers and consumer-unions have had it with consumers filing complaints and demanding refunds for cds and dvds they cant play on their cd or dvd players.
the fact that they cant make a copy for personal use without finding cracks or installing specific software.

european parliament demands a lighter - or even no - copy protection on said products.

"The time has come to guarantee consumers certain basic rights in the digital world, and to tell them what they can do with their digital hardware/content. This is our message in this campaign."

Too bad the european parliament will just get knocked over the head by the european commission again, who will then make it illegal to spend less than 100€/year on CDs.

the even more comical part is that microsoft have concluded that the rootkit is in fact malware and their next anti-malware update will sweep it up
