What's with evey site needing you to register?

Post by Foo »

For fucks sake.... So many sites out there now requiring you to register just to get at stuff you shouldn't NEED to register to get at.

Classic example: http://www.map-center.com/
Want a file from their downloads section, or even just want to get a filename so you can google it from somewhere else? No dice fucker. You have to get a username, password, log into your webmail, run the confirmation process, then key all that shit back into the site again to proceed.

Farce?

aye generally, and aye for map-center. it's a good resource but it'd be a hell of a lot better without the registration crap just to look at stuff/grab the odd file.

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

I forgot about bugmenot. Tis pretty win.

There's still the underlying problem mind. Are webmasters getting dumber, or is the increasing ease-of-use of web technologies enabling more plebians to create sucessful websites?

Its a conspiracy. They're forcing you to give seemingly useless information so they can track you.
