Found this toy from my childhood in my attic...

Post by Berserker »

After purchasing my folks place, I decided this morning to get some things done in the attic that I had been meaning to do. While moveing boxes and bags I came across this GI-Joe Sky Striker. Figured some of you old timers would appreciate this.

I know I had some transformers up there too just cant locate them. You can really notice how much better quality the Gi-joe and Transformer toys where back then. Not the cheap crap like they make now.

Holy shit that makes me jealous.

I used to have that, along with TONS of other GI Joe and Star Wars toys. I got too many of them and they were taking up too much space in my room, so my parents made me put them in our little clubhouse outside. They all got stolen one night. Everything. :tear:

edit: I hate to think about it even now. I always suspected my parents of secretly getting rid of them for some reason. I had a massive collection, it was traumatic. :(

I miss my old toys, I wonder how much I could have made on eBay with them :)

All the old Star wars figures, Gi Joe, MASK, Voltron, ohhh the memories

It must have done something. Even to this day I feel like maybe my parents got rid of all of them for some reason and just never told me.

How fucked up is that? :(

Cool. My cousin was the BIGGEST GI-Joe collector. He has the Cobra Black-Hawk and the GI-Joe Mobile Command (I think that was the largest GI-Joe toy ever made).

I still have my special Voltron set (better than the normal one with more moving parts and stuff) though I'm missing a few of the weapons and spring-loaded missiles. Tons of Lego, which is where my wallet still goes towards whenever I see a cool set.

Toys today suck by comparison. Most of my transformers had die-cast metal components as opposed to those cheap plastic bits that they use now.

nice find. i'm impressed that all the little missiles are still on it after twenty years or so. but if you were a real man you'd have the SR-71. >:E

Did they tell you that Sparky just "ran away" one day, as well? Or that your gerbil "went to camp"?

I never really played with toys. I kept myself entertained outside until I was old enough to buy my own PSX.

I miss being able to walk back into a woods, cut a large vine loose, and swing 40 feet into the air on that sum-bitch. Of course it hurt like hell when it finally gave loose...
