Would anyone like a game?
http://www.warsow.net
It's a very early release, but free, based off the Q2 engine, with several complete maps, and geared entirely towards competitive play.
I'd quite like to have an online game of this if anyone is up for downloading the ~40Mb installer and getting past the awkward beta UI :icon25:

Not really related to Q2. They're aiming for a kind of CPM physics set.
BTW, its free and 40Mb. Try it out you lazy so'n'so

well after a couple of hours messing with it, I like it and will probably play it on and off for a while, and watch the releases.
At the moment the item models are pretty bad, as are the sounds (some finnish guy saying '1 2 3 fight!' is just embarassing). The levels are well laid out but some feel to cramped.
For the size of level the game requires, the rocket launcher feels too slow.
I really like the ammo system. Makes ammo boxes much more significant.

I'm gonna install this, prolly gonna hafta drop by their irc and ask some nice chap to lend a good autoexec.cfg, so I can play it proper.
I hope the cheating in this thing is minimized. I mean being based off the source, and it allows custom assets like UI's/textures/ there's bound to be some lamers cheating.

Grabbing it again.. :-O
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.
It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.
I am now sick.
