Yes, but the 2006 elections are coming up, and both the House and Senate majority leaders are under investigation.

I think there is a very good chance that the Democrats will have control over at least one house of Congress in 2006, and then things will be a little different.

Because the Founding Fathers never anticipated the possibility that the nation's chief executive would treat its final judgments with the respect due an out-of-state parking ticket issued to a rental car, the Supreme Court has been rendered as toothless as a gummy bear.
this isn't confined to the US either. the High Court in London judged a couple of years back that the expulsion of the Chacossians from Diego Garcia in the 1960s to make way for a US military base was illegal. Blair responded by simply ignoring the ruling and then concocted a study 'proving' that the Chagos islands were too 'at risk' from global warming-related climate change to be inhabitable (without reference to the 2000 US servicemen stationed there, who apparently are immune to global warming).
The more you look, the more you'll find that our Constitution has been subverted to the point of virtual irrelevance. The legislative branch has abdicated its exclusive right to declare war to the president, who was appointed by a federal court that undermined the states' constitutional right to manage and settle election disputes. Individuals' protection against unreasonable searches have been trashed, habeas corpus is a joke, and double jeopardy has become routine as those exonerated by criminal court face second trials in civil court. Our system of checks and balances has collapsed, the victim of a citizenry more interested in entertaining distraction than eternal vigilance.
this is a good summary, and is not dissimilar to events in the UK :icon14:

a defining attribute of a government is that it has a monopoly on the legitimate exercise of violence...

problem with this whole debacle, is that if they don't impeach bush, anything they do to karl rove and the office of evil is moot. since that beady eyed jackelope will just pardon them.

DUH!!!!!!!!!!

i think most countries want to avoid impeaching their top leaders. i'll be happy just to have a new american president - Bush out of office when his term ends or if he voluntarily resigns (prolly when pigs fly)

So, he can get all the blow jobs he wants as long as the majority of the house is Republican? Cool. Wish I was in the same situation. Call some of the girls I used to know in High School.

I'm reffering to President Clinton. When Clinton got a BJ in office, it was like a national scandal.

You can blame the neoconservatives and the media for that. I honestly don't care what the president does sexually. If only that was Bush's only problem...if only...
