credit reports

Post by Dr_Watson »

anyone take advantage of that free anual credit report legislation yet? (since i live in NY i had to wait way longer than most people)

for anyone that isn't aware, ( http://www.anualcreditreport.com ) the government passed legislation that allows people to get their credit report run for free once a year.

I just did one for each place... pretty eye opening stuff.
had to dispute 3 bullshit things for experion, but equifax seems to run a tight ship... everything on their report was accurate. and the b.s. charges from the experion one weren't there.

pretty sobering experience to look at your financial history and the mountain of data that has been collected over the years.
but since i'm a geek, it made me wonder what the database server that stores all this shit looks like. :icon26:

Thanks for the links, I didn't know it could be done online so easily. :icon14:

(easily being relative when it involves banks/government of course)
