FINALLY got into the raid array setup and I am presented with another thing that pisses me off...64k is the largest stripe size the controller offers.

Boy am I glad it's not my PC :olo: Time to reboot and raid my raptors with a 512 stripe <3

Well the reviews made it seem ok but it is DEFINITELY proving to me why it was so cheap.

Asrock..... What a joke. Be assured that you'll get what you pay for, almost every single time. Asus or Abit is the only way to go.

That would be SOAPBoy who suggested that motherboard.

Then told me to fuck off when he perceived I'd said something negative about his recommendation.

Not that I'm gloating, but SOAPBOY LOL.

[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

Abit any good nowadays? I went with them for my first Athlon XP machine and their mobos were excellent back then (the 333Mhz boards). Built 2 actually, one for a friends family.

I'm on Asus now. No complaints there either.

Yeah, I gave up on Abit a couple of years ago when they seemed to be having problems with their chipset interface and their RAID controllers. But from what I've read, they're getting their shit together. I've since only bought ASUS for my PCs. Though I did get an MSI NEO4 for my son's PC and it's working fine too.

The board itself isn't that bad, but its got nothing on the MSI Neo4 Platinum SLi thats in my box.

That's the board I put in my son's PC. It seems pretty solid.

I'll be installing my new K8N Neo4 Platinum SLI this weekend.

Can't wait. MSI hasn't let me down yet; the last 3 boards I've had have been MSI. :icon14:

Asrock is Asus' budget brand. Cheaper components, cheaper boards.

The wipe is always needed, if for no other reason than just to be sure.

I still haven't figured out how blind people know they're finished wiping. :stickyfingers:
