Definitely geebs, there's quite a lot of free material on the net, plus various drum forums with invaluable information. To start with, check out the video lessons here and see how you get on.
These videos are pretty good showing you how to grip the sticks correctly and how to strike the drums correctly. Various drummers have advanced variations on these techniques, and you will find that out if you watch all of these vids. I would go with mark wessels techniques initially.
