Wasn't expecting it to be this good.

The dialogue and character depth is what did it for me.

Also nice to see the novel juxtaposition of mid-western american culture onto the sci-fi. Risky and ingenious.

Means that there'll be a whole new group of people that get to experience good sci fi through identification.
