Fast-as-fuck replacement for the shit that is BitComet.

Azureus users need not apply, as this new client is not as comprehensive.

looks like Azureus, but it won't let me control it over HTTP, monitor a torrent drop directory, etc...

Aye I hear that comment a lot. Personally I dont have a problem with it, and can still play games/watch videos/whatever with it running.

I think (but can't confirm) that a lot of problems with Azureus stem from people using Microsoft's Java VM, which is crappy.

This client is awesome, you gotta love apps that run from a single exe.

When they add DHT and UDP I will use this a lot more (currently on Azureus, but I don't mind managing my torrents on 2 apps).

Not yet, it has no DHT support but I've tried it before and it uses like 3 megs of ram. BitComet for now.

torrents are only good if you get something that is brand new and that lots of people have otherwise its a waste of time.

It took me about 5 days to grab a 2.4 gig "article" that I wanted using torrents

took me less than a day to get just under 10 gigs off grabit+newzbin and thats including me using the internet all day and downloading other things like freelancer demo which was 150 meg and various movie clips and stuff like that.

My answer is

the IDEA of torrent may be good and granted its a fast network WHEN lots of people are online WITH the SAME file AND its a NEW torrent that WORKS. But try and get anything thats relatively old or unpopular and your fucked. That to me AINT good.
