Looks like I'm getting drunk tonight

One of my friends got rid of his girlfriend. She cheated on him a while back and he didn't have the balls to leave her. He finally dumped her last night.

Another good friend just got an ultimatum at work - resign or be put on a 30 day probationary period. He has a high paying job as a project manager for a major technical/healthcare corporation, and manages large implementations for sites across the country.
Long story short, one of his big sites has a staff who refuses be accountable for anything they are responsible for, and when it came down to go live time they didn't have their shit done. They ran the blame up the chain and it wound up with him. His boss told him his hands were tied because it was such a huge client, and upper management told him that he had to let the client know they were doing something about "it."

So I'm trekking to Murfreesboro, about 30 miles away, to go hang out. This is the kind of night that has the potential to wind up one of two ways:

1) We go out to the bars all night, get trashed and hook up with some sluts - me and one other guy excluded because we have gf's and don't cheat.

2) We go out to the bars all night, get trashed, and get in a fight with some random pricks because they looked at one of us wrong or shouldered us in the bar.

I'm not saying I want either of these outcomes (though the sluts option doesn't have a downside), but our group have all been friends for a LONG time, and I know what kind of drink this particular set of ingredients is likely to mix up. Everybody is saying they want to keep it low-key and just hang out all night - which I'm sure they really do, right now - but I know better than to believe that's all that's going to happen.

So, altogether, I'm looking forward to it, even though in the long run I probably shouldn't be. :icon32:
