Lol. I have that same fear.

That one section in Duke3d in the sewers scared the shit out of me. Not because of monsters, but because of the deep water and large metal moving objects.

Actually I'm a competent swimmer and have no fear of water.

I do have a problem with deep water (it's not a phobia, I'm just much more cautious about it than a lot of people) but then I've nearly drowned a few times in my life, because I used to spend so much time in and around water.

The phenomena I'm talking about related strictly to water in FPS games. I think though it's cause the kind of water areas you see in FPS games you'd never end up in in real life... and if you did you'd be in the middle of a sewer system in a city, or getting sucked into a pumping station rotor.... and if you wouldn't be scared in a situation like that, then you're a fucking moron.

I guess you're much more immersed in fps games than me, I never had any scares while playing.

i'm not a great fan of deep water irl myself and the deep water bits in games are a *bit* freaky, but this is fucking ridiculous. bet this guy stained his pants in those seamonster bits in HL
