Quick BF2 question

Post by JooKed »

I have a thing for games and their graphics. I really can't stand playing a game happily without max settings. But I have a low budget, and I can't afford the latest hardware all the time.

I can only play it on its defult settings for "high". I think thats a little crazy, since I still lag when I'm trailing behind a dust-creating tank. Everything still looks like total crap compared to the screenshots.
Spec:
AMD 64 3200+
1gb PC3200
Geforce 6800 128mb 8x
160gb hd

I would probably buy it if I knew MOST people couldn't play it max settings, because I would know I don't need much of a hardware upgrade to enjoy it.

So... how many of you here, can actually play bf2 on super max settings?
Also, tell me your specs.

There's no way you'll be able to on a 6800 NU. Unless you mean max settings at 640x480...

If you want to run everything on high and on, you will most likely need 2gb of ram

When getting BF2 I had to increase my ram from 1gig to 1.5gig.
That did seem to help alot.

At below 1280x1024, is 1.5+gb necessary? Is this irrespective of res?
