Balfour Beatty get a bit of a bollocking

Two firms have been fined a total of £13.5m for breaching health and safety regulations over the 2000 Hatfield train crash, in which four people died.
Good to see this reach a conclusion, still seems out of order that no-one's going to do a stretch for it. If the same job had been handled by a local independent contractor and they'd fucked up in the same way, they'd be in jail by now.

as it stands, balfour beatty can let their insurers take the weight and recoup any other losses by skimping even more on their next project.

I don't think their insurers will insure against a breach of regulation.

Not sure, but I don't think it would make sense.
