Hockey - stupid question
Hockey - stupid question
Okay, first off I love going to hockey games - they're fun as hell - but I've only been to maybe 4 in my life. I don't really watch it on tv either. So it's pretty safe to say that I'm a noob. Not such a noob that I don't know what icing is, I'm just saying it, as a disclaimer.
Because I've snagged a couple of our executive's tickets for our season opener game here in Nashville (San Jose Sharks). They're pretty good seats too, on a fairly low level behind the attack zone.
Ultimately my question comes down to me not wanting to look like a jackass in the company seats and not know what's going on.
Is there any general etiquette that you hockey die-hards can give me? I'm not asking about pleasantry etiquette. I mean, is there anything I SHOULDN'T scream at the top of my lungs about? Are there certain times I should always be out of the seat? That sort of thing.
I hope it's a good game. Season opener after not having last season - I think it'll be a blast either way. :icon32:

man you paid for the ticket do what you want
go mental if you wanna, throw shit, scream 'my mommas got a penis' and proceed to get your moneys worth out of the rented 2 foot space you paid for
and your lucky, our hockey rink is being knocked down
ive only been to 2 games and that was a blast, but now, i shall not get another chance unless i wanna drive a good few miles

No, that's the point - I didn't pay for the tickets.
They are our executive seats for the company. It's just that none of our executives are going to the game, so they passed the tickets on to me and my gf.

I would suggest you refrain from your desire to yell:R00k wrote:Okay, first off I love going to hockey games - they're fun as hell - but I've only been to maybe 4 in my life. Let's put it this way. Any lewd behaviour will probably get back to the president of the company.losCHUNK wrote:ahhh i see, well, it doesnt really matter then, you didnt pay for the tickets so what you got to loose
therefore my point still stands
Now, I know how to behave myself when I have to - I just want to make sure I don't piss off any hockey fans while I'm at it.
No offense Kracus, but I don't think I'll be taking your advice on social graces anytime soon, unless I'm visiting a crackhouse or a stripper's home.Kracus wrote:Yeah it might be a good idea to keep your gay tendencies to yourself, otherwise you're pretty much good to go.
Or unless I'm at some strange game where they all use lead pipes.

Well I don't feel too bad, considering.
We scored in the first 10 minutes last night, so it was starting to look good. Then they got 2 in the second period and I was getting worried. But one more 10 minutes into the 3rd, and another with about a minute left on the clock and it was good. Almost a fight near the end but it was broken up.
