I never understood why some people so smugly admit to a lack of knowledge.
We don't know alot of euro comedians.. It's not a big deal, I'm sure you don't know alot of comedians in other countries either.
I never understood why some people so smugly infer with total ignorance of the truth.
Ronnie barker wasnt just a comedian you schmuck, he was an institution and a national treasure. Its not like Bill hicks (very very funny guy) dieing, its more like Frank Sinatra. Someone who was an icon of your culture and heritage
now take your st00pid ass out the thread, you neither have the intellectual stimulation to compete nor the funny bone to make light of the situation
Ronnie Barker LIVES on through the rememberance of his peers, his friends and a greatful nation

Yeah, I heard about this yesterday and was saddened. Ronnie Barker was just great. I used to love watching the two ronnies and porridge. The two ronnies had tons of sketches with clever word play and the mastermind sketch is an all time classic. Most of todays comedy though involves swearing for cheap laughs, and very little is as funny and clever without resorting to that. Tommy Cooper, morecambe and wise, fawlty towers, monty python, eric sykes, peter cook and dudley moore, peter sellers, the goons, etc, all from an era of great comedy which is sadly gone.
