Sales figures in Japan for consoles last week are as follows:

1.) Nintendo DS - 68,123 | 72,167 | 1,766,415 [ Sales to date: 3,262,002 ]

2.) PSP - 50,629 | 70,152 | 1,335,996 [ Sales to date: 1,818,252 ]

3.) Game Boy Advance micro - 46,529 | 170,306 | 216,835

4.) PlayStation 2 - 25,518 | 24,396 | 1,452,226

5.) Game Boy Advance SP - 12,483 | 11,147 | 538,187 [ Sales to date: 5,533,240 ]

6.) GameCube - 2,267 | 1,882 | 159,391

7.) Game Boy Advance - 448 | 624 | 19,987

8.) Xbox - 98 | 109 | 10,111 [ Sales to date: 470,546 ]

98 entire consoles sold in a week?!??!
Do they really think they are gonna turn things around with the 360?
Everyone in the world has a PS2 and it still sold 25,000+ units
I can see the 360 losing a lot of money

The original Xbox was the size of an average japanese house, was typically american and didnt have style, unless you think a brick is asthetically pleasing.

Nah, what with all the japanese studios signing on to work with the 360 it'll probab;y sell much better than the xbox did in Japan.

The playstation cannot be beaten in Japan. Not by Nintendo, not by Microsoft. The PS3 has already won this round.

However, Microsoft might chop a few Nintendo and Sony heads in the US. Nintendo will probably still hold the handheld market in it's hands though.

Well I wouldn't buy an xbox now either if I knew the 360 is comming out next month.

I really would be surprised if it didn't do well in Japan... I mean really those people have too much money and spare time.
