Ever thought about having only1 leader for the whole planet?

I think that is what John Lennon wanted and me too.

Imagine a leader with a representative in every country.

They could be ''the representatives'' the person already in place just like Tony Blair and Fidel Castro.
They would communicate between them in a conference virtual room and exchange their datas/informations and inter relate their goals or problems and participate in every motions.
I know some will say it’s called the G 8.
But I want more than that.
Imagine what would be the voting arena like.

We elect people to represent entities. We elect presidents/prime ministers to represent countries. There is no point in representing the world when there are no other entities like it.

I think we may eventually end up with a world government, but it's not going to be any time soon. For now, I'd settle for having elected officials represent the people instead of companies.

There would have to be systems in place to ensure the one leader didn't have much power at all, and if someone dodgy (or American) got into that #1 position that they couldn't fuck it all up for the rest of the world.

That's a good point.
That's also why we would need collaboratives representatives in every country so in a way he wouldn't be the only one to take position/decisions.

besides this would not ride with 80% of th planet's population being religious can you imagine the controversy of the "one" being the leader?

I am not sure about the religion but for the other part...
A president don't make much money compares to his/her obligations and responsabilities. I think they do their job honestly for the people. Just think arnold schwarzenegger, I am sure He was making much more money as an actor and he doesn't even need his pay check as a governor to survive.
But the religion part is a good point I understand my friend.

yeah good idea, its too bad the world doesn't get along with eachother.....it would be like having countrys for annoying mother in laws.

i imagine the world could get along much better if there wasn't so much fear of who's-got-what and who's-gunna-nuke-who going on.

Seriously, it could work. Every country still takes care of themselves (much like state leaders do currently in most countries -- take care of state issues), but all issues that affect the world as a whole would be decided by everyone. Wars don't happen, because even if a country decides they want out of the global union, they could be forced to shut down their weapons, be taken over by force by the rest of the world, or be shut off from the rest of the world in terms of internet and other communications, trade, resources, etc.

None of this UN bullshit, who folded when america decided "fuck them, we're going to war anyway", but an actual global power, with everyone else involved.

Well, I'd be all for it had we shown any ability on that front already. But look at America. Closest thing to what you're all proposing, yet a complete crook appears to be in power right now and isn't being held half as accountable as he should be.

Maybe in a few thousand years, we'll have that one cracked. But right now we as a species are clearly not that well developed.
