new xp install on a new system internet speed problems

k so why the fluck am I pinging google with a 300ms response time? and why the is my enemy territory browser getting nothign les than 180 ping?

with my old pc my connection to servers was well in the double digits any help? are there some settings in xp I need to check up on?

upgrade all drivers .. network card,mobo etc

indeed I haven't seen my gf in over a month

btw the problem was fixed all on it's own from what I can tell :shrug:

my d/ling has gotten weird since i got bb working. a single d/l from say filefront only uses half the available bandwidth, but if i d/l two files at once they both use half (and so combine to use all of it). wtf?
