What class do you mean by Ranger? Spec Ops? I've been playing as Spec Ops a lot, so I'd go with the G36C. Here's a chart that breaks down all the details of each weapon.

The M4 and the M16A2 are quite good, and the G36C is about the best weapon in the game. The sniper rifles are ridiculous due to the deviation per shot added. You're almost better off sniping with a pistol.

that image isnt working, but from what i read the g36c unlock was pretty much cosmetic becasue it had the same specs as the default spec-ops gun.

The differences are small, but the G36C has a slight accuracy advantage.

too many spawn rapers out there now for some reason, and lately every server i play on just has folks who spam the grenade launcher at the spawn points all day...

Also, I read something that said that the LG851 was a great upgrade and a good gun...so I wanted someone's firsthand experience with the guns. That's the problem with the online guides and shit for this game...some of them I've found seem to avoid calling any weapon bad. Everything is good or solid.

Some of them are definitely worse than others. The larger problem is the lag-induced inaccuracy, it's fucking infuriating.
