what dx version does a GF4 4200 support?

what dx version does a GF4 4200 support?

does it fully support dx 9 or just 8?

i think you need a GF5, 6 or 7 for that. you'll need a GF6 or higher or a high end ATI card for HL2 though because it implements DX differently to other games, and that's not supported in the GF5 range

I can play hl2 just fine on my gf4 card

yes but you don't have normalmapped models and realtime reflective water, for which you need a GF6+

i should have made that clearer
