The Spider man 3 villains are....
Sandman and Venom
Kirsten Dunst has reportedly let slip that the villains in the third Spider-Man outing will be played by Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace. She should know: Dunst is set to reprise her role as Spidey love interest Mary Jane Watson. Church, who was nominated for a best supporting actor Oscar for his role as the wastrel sidekick in Sideways, is apparently down to play Sandman, "a career criminal whose irradiated body can turn into a sand-like substance." Grace, last seen in the UK in Traffic and Mona Lisa Smile, will play Venom, a kind of alien body snatcher. Spider-Man 3 is set for release in May 2007.

Yeah heard this last night.. I'm glad venom is in it, maybe spidey will get that fucking cool black/blue suit at some stage
We all had a hunch it would be him after seeing the events in spidey 2
But sandman... I'd like to see how they allow him to come about but keep it realistic (The other two were realistic, you know, they COULD of happened and you dont have to think to far away from real life to see them happen).
What about the hob goblin, not this time?

When I saw Venom I thought "Fucking awesome, about time."
Then I saw that Topher Grace is going to be playing him?
What in fuck were they thinking on that one? He looks like an underdeveloped teenager, and I haven't seen any of his acting that made me think he could play any sort of action role. Is this some kind of hoax?

You're thinking of Jamersons son who isn't venom. He was the astronaut that brought the symbiote back to earth.Dek wrote:Hrmm...
didn't they show the character that plays venom was brock that she was marrying in one of the films already... no?
Oh god I hope we get to see the space shuttle land on the brooklyn bridge.
Raimi hates venom, so he's likely to change the mythos surrounding the character. I've always thought venom was pretty lame myself so I hope that they do change the character a lot. Making him sort of the antithesis to spiderman could work well. You can see how Topher Grace would work in this capacity, as he's like a Toby Maguire clone.
But in the comic book, Venom looks like a big black burly badass.
I didn't think of the comparison between him and Mcguire, but it still doesn't seem like the original villain. I didn't realize Raimi had some kind of problem with Venom to begin with either. I always thought he was one of the cooler spider man villains.

Eddie Brock was a buff jock, Riddler is just wrong. In the comic book the symbiote is addicted to Peter Parker because his spider sense makes his adrenal system kick into overdrive. The Venom symbiote feeds off adrenaline so it sees Spidey as being the ultimate host. When Spiderman got rid of the symbiote it went to Eddie Brock and stayed with him because he had a form of cancer that caused his adrenal glands to be hyper active.
Eddie Brock is actually dead now (he died from the cancer) but is kept alive by the symbiote, which is permanately bonded to him now.

They didn't lead up to the hobgoblin at all. Harry Osbourn was never the hobgoblin. What they led up to was the second green goblin.duffman91 wrote:What the fuck crap is that? They led up to the Hobgoblin in the end of Spiderman 2. They might be pushing their luck trying to make it 4 or even 5 movies.
