*sniffle* it is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Sonic the Hedgehog on my PSP, takes me back a decade.

Sheesh, maybe you guys are just spoiled brats that you think SNES runs like shit. :p

Make sure you are using the snes9xTYL emu:

http://files.pspupdates.qj.net/cgi-bin/ ... 0,0,4,1136

This is what I have for default settings: (You can save as default for every game in the menu)

Autosave timer & updated sram: Off

[Meh, I save my games manually, and I don't need sram saves, those are if you want to use your save across other emulators I think. If you keep this on you might get some skipping here and there]

Sound: On

Frequency: 22Khz

[44 will slow things down a bit, 22 sounds really good too]

GFX Engine: PSP accel.+accu.soft.

[This setting will draw everything on the screen, the other ones sometimes will not]

Frameskip: 1

[2 is the most you should go, because it will get a bit choppy if you go higher]

Rendering: Full

[The speed difference between the windowed modes is really neglible, I like to keep things on full screen :D ]

Render PAL as NTSC: On

[Removes the black border in certain pal games]

Smoothing: On

[Otherwise it will look pixelated]

Speed limit: On

[With it off sound will play faster sometimes]

Video Sync: Off

[Bleh, this shit always slows games down]

Gamma Correction: 2

CPU Clock: 266

[333 is totally safe too :) ]

Show FPS: Off

Hack Debug Menu: Default

You may want to go into redefine controlls and disable the turbo mode and raising and lowering frame skip. It's annoying to me sometimes I press the other directions instead of the menu. The turbo mode is shit anyway, all it does is slow things down a lot. And frameskip should be at 1, maybe 2 for a rare few games (higher it will feel choppier). But at 1 you will boost your frames almost by half.

I turn on speed limit because sometimes the sound is played too fast if it's not on. You can even safely go to CPU clock 333 if you wish, I haven't heard of any bricks because of it yet. I keep it at 266 because I don't really need it any faster.

I'm getting chrono trigger at 60fps right now with these settings. There are a few games that will run slow still yes, like the fx chip powered games like yoshi's island, and super mario rpg.

But for the most part, they all run pretty good for me. :p

Hmmm, launch Super Mario 2, go through the door, and stand there and what framerate you get? My readings are 58 on top, 29 on bottom. Totally playable for the entire game. :paranoid:

i dont know why you guys are having so meny issues, i loaded up Nes, Snes, and Genesis on a PSP, Made sure that the roms's O/ced the psp to 333mhz, and it was all downhill from there.

No slowdowns, all emulated gravy.

Hmm... Link to the past runs amazingly well and looks sexy as fuck too...

Its just a shame that the d-pad wont go in anlged directions (you know, hold up and right and you walk diagonal?)

I think the previous version of tyl had allowed to swap the analog for the dpad for movement, but it's not there anymore. :(

Or it might of been some different emu I was using before.

GFX Engine: PSP accel.+accu.soft.

Otherwise, some games won't render everything correctly. And make sure all the bg settings are on in the hack menu. :p

Just had a thought...

Is there something I can do (not eject the game) that will turn the psp on and go straight to the menu, even with a game loaded?

On the game cube you hold a button in and it does it :(

Off to pick up a psp.. maybe... Still debating if its worth the money.. >:E
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.
