It's been forEVER since I've touched an original Doom config file. I started it up this morning to play some and I can't remember how to change anything.
What are the config file settings to do things like display the HUD for instance?
I looked in the links thread and searched the forum, but can't find what I'm looking for. Any help much appreciated. :icon32:
You gonna play online with zdaemon? You have to change the .ini settings in that one right? When I played with mogul a while back, I changed that godawful bobbing to 0, that's pretty much it.
As for sp, just grab jdoom which should come with a launcher, the menus will allow you to change a ton of settings in there.
After searching around I think I need to update my executable, but it's like a maze trying to find which version I need. I had it copy the .wad file from my Doom directory, so that shouldn't be the problem.
Yeah, Jdoom is the best port. You can even grab improved textures, and 3dmodels of the guns and the enemies. Some people prefer to play it the 'pure' way though. That's good too, if you use jdoom you can have that nice gl filter on everything.
As for your problem, I'm not sure. Maybe you need to have jdoom installed in the same directory as the wads? (Sorry, I haven't played Doom in quite a while, don't remember).
This is a good resource for everything jdoom and the forums can lead you to the extra goodies for download if you so prefer. And they should be able to help you with this question better.
