Remote Desktop

Post by SOAPboy »

Is there something other than windows built in.. thats worth a shit?
[size=75][i]I once had a glass of milk.

It curdled, and then I couldn't drink it. So I mixed it with some water, and it was alright again.

I am now sick.

Windows RDP is still there best there is if you're in a windows environment.

Aside from that there are a million flavours of VNC some of which are shite some are OK, and 'Proxy' by Funk Software, if you want a commercial solution.

Problem, the "server" we need to talk to is on XP HOME, thus dont have remote desktop SERVER function.. :-|

I don't quite understand why, after asking for advice and establishing you have XP Home and not Pro or Corp, you then proceed to go with a virtually unheard of commercial program instead of the free options presented here.

RealVNC or TightVNC would be better options than what you went with Soap. Both are free and both are excellent apps for clients which can't use RDP.

Nor is it a single entity. There are plenty of implementations.
