I think my taste in what appeals to me is far to complicated to narrow down to any few songs as a set of favorites. Sometimes I love one song and other times I hate it, depending on what mood I'm in. As a result, the number of songs I think are absolutely thrilling to listen to are in the hundreds.

Right now, my favorite songs are:

Within Temptation - Angels
Sonata Arctia - Don't Say a Word
Children of Bodom - Angels Don't Kill
Gwen Stefani - This Shit is Bananas
Dave Brockie Experience - March of the Faggot Soldiers

Next week, this list will probably be completely different.

EDIT: this is a pretty good oppertunity to pimp Audioscrobbler, which is a small plugin you can get for all major media players (including foobar2000 \o/) which uploads what you're playing to your online profile, and shows your top songs of the week, of all time and your last few played songs. Ironically at the moment it's currently not updating, but anyway:

http://www.last.fm/user/cunningstnt/ is my profile
you can get the plugin here: http://www.last.fm/postsignup.php
