Thinking of buying

Post by Haystacker17 »

World of Warcraft.... all the people i know are raving about it. everyone seems to love it.

but i have a few questions. first question being why the hell do you have to pay for the game then pay to play it?

second question is can you make your own servers?

and last question is would you say its worth the money?

You have to pay every month because the game runs from powerful internet servers with very hefty connections. They cost thousands per month to run.

You pay at the start because the game companies know people are big enough sheep to do so.

enjoy giving up your life. :p

That game has alienated quite a few people I used to know from society. Must have been their weak minds...

reviews are okie.... but if u have a big bank balance then you get the inside story from a person thats been playing it like soapboy.

The videos on reviews normaly show the best of the game i want to see the best and the worst sides.

They should have a demo of the game that only lets you fuck around in one city and not leave the bounds of it, or limit you to becoming only level 5. Then you'll get to experience the gameplay and see if you want to pay for more. I think this is how MMORPGs should be. They should give the client out for free and limit what you can do in the game depending on if you pay or not.

It's Massively Multiplayer, it's online, so yes it is.. Games just don't follow specific catagories anymore. We have RTS and FPS games with RPG elements for example. There's more than a few games about that simply can't be slung into a specific genre slot anymore. GW is one of them. But it's more of an MMO than an RPG, an RTS or a sports simulation.
Just because it threads new ground and isn't exactly like WoW and CoH doesn't make it any less an MMO when it comes to catagorising it's genre..
Well according to them its not.. id suggest playing some real MMOs before making judgement..

Instancing off the entire game and only meeting people in town, is hardly "massive multiplayer"

its Diablo fucking 2 with an interactive lobby..
