N - 'Way of the ninja'

Post by [xeno]Julios »

This is a fricking amazing game:
Winner of the Audience Award at the 2005 Game Developers Choice Awards, N, 'the way of the ninja', "is a highly advanced system of spiritual, cognitive, and physical training. It emphasizes pacifism, humility, and the need to traverse a series of 5 rooms before the end of your lifetime."

nice, although the controls don't feel very 'tight'

I think it's a thing that needs to be mastered - if you load up the game and watch the demos that automatically play, you can see that you can develop a really fine level of control

ah - just read that there's a way to disable sticky keys in the control config - maybe only in download version. Gonna try it.

never mind - the sticky thing is in windows control panel - not part of the game.

edit: check out the help menu - has some very useful tutorial information

Wicked find jules, that's a lot of fun. I have no idea what level I'm on now but I've passed like 4 stages so far.

Once you get the hang of how your character moves around the levels it get's pretty tight. I'm up to stage 5 so far..

I'm stuck on this one stage right now... it's tough cause you gotta draw out this little fast thing on the ground to one side then run through a narrow tunnel and jump out a small opening at the top before the thing you drew out to one side rams you comming back.

i'm in awe watching some of the demos - the amount of control those peeps have is ridiculous

Yes! Finished episode nine - new flavour unlocked (now i can make my ninja pink! :icon26:)

this game has an incredibly high skill barrier - like quake does - soo many important things to master that you never even thought of before. So many subtleties - but the power you have over the level is phenomenal once you start mastering these things.

"Way of the Ninja is a very apt title"

btw for help, this looks like it might be good:

holy shit just realized that you can view replays of all the top scorers - it's integrated into the game. Unbelievable!

yea u have to restart each episode if you quit halfway through. But once you finish an episode (which itself consists of 5 levels) then your progress is saved.

So i'm on episode 29 right now which means I've completed about 145 levels so far.
