if i had to guess, i'd say the play was called dead (offsides perhaps? you can see people stop running and turn around right before the camera cuts in close) so he decided to screw around a bit

i never really understood what offside meant, but another reason the players stopped and turned around was coz they figured it was an easy save so they were getting ready for him to kick it out.
Offside mean's there are no players inbetween an offending team member and the goalie at the moment that the ball is passed to the offending team member.
it was england vs. columbia, friendly match- and i guess that was an actual shot, not an offsides call or anything like that. apparently he used to do it all the time
