My neighbour bought retail HL2 and still had to install Steam so I don't think there's any getting away from it, not that I see anything wrong with Steam, it works fine here.

Possibly more episodes depending on how well Aftermath is received. Then onto Half-Life 3 I suppose..

Well that's fucking stupid. They are gonna keep releasing 'mini-xpacks' indefinatey now? Same game, same engine, same gameplay, just like 2-3 hours worth of new levels? (Mind you, the good players can breeze through those fast).

I guess Valve needs this, maybe they are short on cash (having only 1 featured franchise and all).

I'll most likely get Aftermath mind you, but after that I'll probably be over the HL2 franchise to bother any further.

And if they decide to continue with new episodes in the future, that means there's a good chance Aftermath won't tie up all the loose end in the story either. Woooo. :td:

If you think of games as one movie valve are simply making their games a TV show instead.

It allows for much more creative freedom and storyline possibilities.
