Bad yahoo....bad!

“We already knew that Yahoo ! collaborates enthusiastically with the Chinese regime in questions of censorship, and now we know it is a Chinese police informant as well,” the press freedom organisation said.

....

Yahoo ! and Chinese censorship For years Yahoo ! has allowed the Chinese version of its search engine to be censored. In 2002, Yahoo ! voluntarily signed the "Public Pledge on Self-Discipline for the China Internet Industry", agreeing to abide by PRC censorship regulations. Searches deemed sensitive by the Chinese authorities such as “Taiwan independence” in Chinese into the Yahoo ! China search engine, retrieve only a limited and approved set of results.
I wonder what the article said...and I wonder if they do it in other countries :paranoid:

Yahoo provide censored searching in China, Microsoft provide that too. Cisco provide the routers to the chinese government used in monitoring.

Most all big business has a hand in China, it's so widespread it's hardly challenged.

Not that it's any less sickening. IMO the US should be more concerned with allowing cooperation with the Chinese government rather than pissing over its citizens holidaying in Cuba.

But China is a much more formidble foe.. We also get so many things from China via trades..

Communism isn't bad, unless they have some oil..

Depends on your priorities and morals.
Whether you feel any responsibility for people who are forced to live under censorship, or whether you are willing to help their government make that happen.
